During this project, I discovered that clay is difficult to manipulate and it takes patience to get the shape you want to see in the clay. This piece is successful because their was no air holes so it didn't explode when heated. If I could change it, I would have taken more time painting the small details on the pumpkin. I learned from this assignment that you can make art on all different kinds of surfaces and I found out that I really enjoy the way a simple black ink drawing looks on top of a busy newspaper. This piece was very successful in showing how even the simplest of designs can look interesting when paired with a unique background. If I could change the drawing, I might add more leaves onto the tree branch or focus on small details more. I learned from this project that you don't just have to use a basic medium when doing an art piece, you can also include things from nature or anything else like that. This piece was successful because I was able to use a leaf to represent a balloon. If I could do this project again I would add more than one nature aspect, it would be really cool to make a whole project out of just nature. We Collaborate
My project was a collaboration of ideas between myself and the original artist that thought of the idea of drawing the Wizard Of Oz characters walking on Abbey Road like the Beatles. My part in the collaboration was incorporating my own ideas about giving each character a different colored symbol that represents who they are and what they were granted when they visited the wizard. During my process of creating this piece, I asked many students around me to give their input about how to place my characters and what their extra object they have should be. My teacher helped me understand how I could replicate the original piece and helped me get cardboard and other supplies needed to complete my final artist steal project. http://www.pinterest.com/kristenmaselli/artist-steal/ I Take Risks For this project, I tried doing a stencil which was a big risk for me. I had two characters (Scarecrow and cowardly lion) that had so many specific little details with the fur/straw that I know it would be extremely hard to complete with an exacto knife, but I did it anyways and I'm very happy with how all my characters look. I am very used to just drawing with a pencil so using spray paint for my stencil was really challenging for me, I like the way the spray paint was fast and easy to use but I still feel more confident when using a pencil and a eraser. |
