One catergory of artist observe mini lessons was Still Life
I really enjoyed doing the Perspective Project. My group and I walked around Apex High School and took pictures of people and/or objects from different perspectives, this type of art is called forced perspective. Throughout this project I learned different types of perspectives that can be drawn or photographed! I thought this project was very successful because my group had some funny and really realistic looking pictures because we thought of good ways to use forced perspective. If I did this project again I would have taken more pictures that included props instead of just people.
For the Scientific mini lesson I drew a flower provided by my teacher. This project was done by observing the object in class while drawing it. After we drew it on paper in class we transferred it to the iPad to add color to it and add more of a texture/3D effect. In this lesson I learned a new technique, the class learned different techniques on the iPad of how to combine art and technology. My peice was quite successful but I liked how it turned out on paper much more than how it turned out on the iPad. I could have done better on the iPad when adding color and showing value. If I were to do this project again I would focus more on value instead of detail and try harder on learning how to use the technology.
. For this project I drew a 3D hand. In class we worked a lot of still life projects and I liked it alot because it was something constant to draw and wasn't going to change during your drawing like a live animal would. Still life drawing taught me technique, detail and medium. We used mediums of pencil, pen and charcoal. My favorite medium was pencil because it was easy to manipulate and erase if you made a mistake. I thought my still life pieces were successful because I did pretty well with all three mediums. I became much better at drawing thanks to the still life mini lesson. In the future I would like to add more detail and not be afraid to go darker with my mediums.
